Information Technology Specialist Works as the information technology management support team member serving as a subject matter expert and provides technical assistance for all IT-related operations. Has an ability to conduct customer support duties and recommends necessary IT action pertinent to all aspects of customer support. Responsible for maintaining systems configuration as well as resolving IT equipment/software interfaces and interoperability problems. Continually reviewing hardware and software to ensure that it is responsive to user needs, creating and monitoring accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment. Also, IT specialist is responsible for monitoring systems resources, applying the installation and integration of system fixes, workarounds, updated and enhancements to include performance, capacity, availability, serviceability and recoverability; troubleshooting all aspects of the system, including hardware, software, and communication lines. Performing customer service help desk/IT support duties and providing technical assistance to local functional users and/or IMOs to minimize disruptions. Must have an active Secret clearance License required and be able to operate a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) or other non-commercial vehicles. Be able to wear body armor and a Kevlar helmet and chemical warfare gear. Capable and willing to travel throughout the country of Iraq and able to live and work, at times, in austere or potentially hostile environment. Must be an advanced user of Microsoft Office suite Must be able to utilize specific applications: Active Client and PureEdge Must possess a thorough understanding of, and ability to manipulate the features of: Microsoft XP and Vista, including the Microsoft Management Console, registry settings, and Active Directory Users and Computers tools. Sun OS and HPUX experience
