Abt Associates Inc, a major American business and government research, technical assistance, and consulting company is searching for well-qualified public health professionals for an up-coming USAID-funded Primary Health Care (PHC) Project in Iraq. The 4-year project will support the Iraqi Ministry of Health in achieving its strategic goal for better quality primary health care services by strengthening the primary health care delivery system in Iraq.

Abt Associates is recruiting public health professionals for the following Baghdad-based position, which are contingent on successful award of a contract for the project.

Primary Health Care (PHC) Standards of Care Task Manager -- who will develop “Policies and Procedures for Establishing National Primary Health Standards of Care” to institutionalize the process for developing, reviewing, revising, updating, approving, and disseminating PHC treatment protocols and related tools, such as training curricula, job aids, BCC materials, etc.

Primary qualification requirements:

• Master’s Degree, along with 6 to 8 years relevant experience in Public Health, Primary Health Care, Community Health, Nursing, Communications, Epidemiology, Health Administration, Health Information Systems, Monitoring and Evaluation, Public Advocacy, Social Science Research, and Statistics, or other relevant fields.
• Significant experience in civil society strengthening, gender issues, health facility management, capacity building, and training.
• Direct experience in the development, implementation, and writing of clinical procedures, research reports, service delivery and quality improvement activities/interventions, treatment protocols, training curricula.
• Experience with donor funded projects, particularly USAID, highly desirable.
• Excellent written and communication skills, and English language fluency.
