| Senior / Executive Media Monitor and Analyst Title: Senior / Executive Media Monitor and Analyst Number of positions: Two – one ‘Senior’ and one ‘Executive’ position Reports to: Program Manager, SCMS Based at: US Embassy, Baghdad Clearance required: SECRET Nationality: US Job purpose: He/she will serve as Media Monitor and Analyst in STRATCOMM Assessment ad Analysis Division He/she will work as part of a small team monitoring up to 30 media outlets on a daily basis He/she will provide professional analysis of the team’s monitoring efforts He/she will populate a media monitoring database on a daily basis He/she will produce daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to an executive four-star level – with the ability to brief, present, create and write these reports and documents. He/she will monitor and assess media space reporting and have the ability to identify trends related to topics and themes, outlets, messengers, tonality and bias, as well as impacts to USF-I goals. He/she will display information in a clear, concise, accurate and aesthetically pleasing manner that allows for cogent conclusions and recommendations to be derived from displayed information. Skills, experience and competencies: He/she will possess excellent Iraqi dialect linguistic skills He/she will have an excellent understanding of Iraqi politics and current affairs He/she will have excellent IT skills including MS Office, MS PowerPoint and MS Access. Ability to conduct research using a western media database such as LexisNexis and/or related tools, as well as strong media analysis abilities.. | |
