IT/Data Management Expert SGI is looking for an IT/Data Management Expert for an important assignment in the field of water resources planning and land use in Iraq. This assignment implies the expert’s long-term presence in the project area (at least a year). Therefore, the applicant should be available to spend most of the assigned man-months in Iraq. The applicant’s security will be under SGI’s responsibility. The applicant shall hold a degree in the field of engineering, Information Technologies or equivalent, and be familiar with the most important IT tools and software, such as Mainframe IBM Cobol, CICS with database VSAM and DLI, MS-DOS Pascal, C and Clipper with database DBIV, WINDOWS Visual Basic, NET with database SQL Server e Access, INTRANET/INTERNET HTML, ASP, Java, Visual Basic, NET, etc. He/she shall have a vast experience in the application of IT tools for optimization of communication systems and for storing and logistic management of information. In particular, the applicant shall have proven track record of: Designing of Data Management Systems (DMS) for the water sector, with particular regard to design and development of water management information system, Spatio-temporal integration of data systems for decision making in feasibility studies and water management projects; Development of the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) aimed at data processing. He/she shall be proficient in English language. Knowledge of Arabic will be considered an asset.
