| Senior Voice Systems Engineer SCOPE Serves as the Joint NetOps Control Center (JNCC-I) Theater Voice Systems Engineer and supports MNF-I/MNC-I, the JNCC-I, and other CENTCOM theater organizational groups within the Iraq Theater Information Grid (I-TIG). The JNCC-I Theater Voice Engineer provides guidance, support, and oversight to ensure I-TIG voice services meet or exceed acceptable service and mission requirements while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations. The engineer assists the military leadership with voice requirements analysis for current and future operations. REPONSIBILITIES • Provides voice network technical and policy support for MNF-I, lateral organizations, and subordinate units within the I-TIG and assists with the integration of voice networks, systems, or services into the I-TIG. • Provides guidance or advice regarding telephone systems network architecture, commercialization, design, integration, and operations strategies or practices within the I-TIG. • Drafts, processes, issues, and implements I-TIG Telephone Systems network policy and standardization across the I-TIG as needed. • Provides oversight and enforcement of network performance, configuration management, and integration of the I-TIG interface to Tier 0, Tier 1, and Tier 2 circuit-switched, tactical, and strategic telephone systems within the I-TIG. • Liaises with representatives from MNF-I branch sections and other organizations during communications planning and execution phases. • Coordinates with Telephone Systems Engineers from higher headquarters, lateral external agencies, and subordinate external agencies. • Coordinates on Joint Urgent Operational Needs (JUONS) or Operational Needs Statements (ONS) requesting telephone systems equipment. • Coordinates with Circuit Actions section for drafting/processing of Tier 1 and Tier 2 telephone systems-based Requests for Services (RFS) and change requests. • Coordinates to provide consolidated high-level trouble resolution for the I-TIG. • Conducts telephone systems network trend analysis with Branch sections and assists in the development of plans to ensure optimal network performance, capacity management, and call routing. • Assists in documentation of the I-TIG telephone systems network as required by CENTCOM J6 and the JNCC-I functions. • Other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • U.S. citizenship and valid U.S. Passport • Active SECRET Security Clearance • BS or BA degree in Computer Science or related technical field preferred, or a corresponding number of years of experience in the telecommunications industry. • A minimum of 6 years of directly related experience with voice communications networks utilizing a combination of analog, digital and VoIP equipment, systems, and services. • Self starter with a demonstrated ability to independently resolve problems and take a lead role in problem resolution • Understanding of architecture, technologies, concepts, and protocols used in public and private voice networks • Must be able to travel to other locations within the CENTCOM theater of operations to provide onsite SME support, guidance, or assistance • Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • DISN and PSTN knowledge and experience • Cisco CCVP or equivalent years of experience with VoIP technologies • Experience with Nortel SL-1/SL-100/DMS, Redcom IGX/HDX, Avaya, Cisco Call Manager/Call Manager Express/Gatekeepers/Gateways • Network management, NOC, and/or project management experience • Knowledge of service monitoring or testing tools and DISA or industry standard performance measurements • Experience with large, mixed vendor, mixed technology voice networks • Ability to clearly present ideas, solutions, and concerns • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with short timelines • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations • Ability to maintain high-quality work to manage multiple critical projects • Ability to perform and participate in a team-oriented environment • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of users • Excellent customer service skills and demeanor Pelatron is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, or Vietnam era, or other eligible veteran status, or any other protected factor. | |
