| Mechanic - Instrument Control Senior Repairer High School Diploma or GED. Hands on experience with fire control equipment, night vision devices, small -weapons systems and preventive maintenance programs. Good Attendance, dependable and punctual. Excellent Customer Service Skills. Strong Communication Skills. Security clearance a plus. Min. 3 years experience. Technical or advanced degree, certificate or diploma in small arms, fire control electronics, and/or related systems or equivalent amount of experience. This is a position with a physical rating of heavy. Must have a minimum of 3 years electro-optical maintenance and repair to ground ordnance laser and night vision devices, small missiles systems, and other fire control equipment. Duties also include performing mechanical, mechanical- optical and electrical repairs to include inspecting, troubleshooting and adjusting fire control instruments and systems. The repairer also completes basic shop administrative forms and records using technical publications. Must have a current Secret Security Clearance. U.S. passport required. Must pass a physical exam due to the harsh living and working conditions. Criminal background and drug screen will be conducted. Diagnoses and repairs malfunctions of armament, electrical, instrument, and fire control systems and components including solid state and transistorized subsystems. Performs maintenance, authorized modifications and alignment fire control units, sighting elements, electronic and mechanical devices, and instruments. Performs operational checks, ammunition loading/unloading and weapon subsystems configuration changes. Test/troubleshoots and repairs test sets and diagnostic equipment. Requisitions and maintains shop and bench stock for repair of electrical, instrument, and fire control systems. Uses and performs operator maintenance on common and special tools. Maintains records on weapons and subsystems. Working Conditions: Extreme danger, stress, physical hardships and possible field living conditions associated with this position within a desert camp complex. Ability to function during an extended assignment at a foreign, in-country facility exposed to seasonal temperature extremes. Ability to cope with shared cafeteria, bath and sleeping quarters. Must be able to walk, kneel, bend and stoop, and have correctable vision. Supervised by the Site Manager or senior Human Resources personnel.
