SAMS Operator

Candidate should have three (3) years experience in a military logistics environment within the past five (5) years. Must possess working knowledge of Standard Army Maintenance Systems (SAMS). Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience with the SAMS-1 system. Must be competent in the use of SAMS and other related distribution systems used at site. Must have a U.S. passport.

Must be able to pass a physical exam due to the harsh living and working conditions. Must also pass a pre-employment criminal background and drug screen. This is a one (1) year assignment. You should expect to work 12 hours days, 7 days a week.

Establish and maintain stock records and other documents such as inventory, materiel control, accounting and supply reports. Establish and maintain automated and manual accounting records, posts receipts and turn-ins, and performs dues-ins and dues-outs accounting.

Correct error and exception documents. Review and verify quantities received against bills of lading, contracts, purchase requests, and shipping documents. Unload, unpack, visually inspect, count, segregate, palletize, and store incoming supplies and equipment. Maintains stock locator system and administers document control procedures.

Repair and construct fiberboard or wooden containers. Pack, crate, stencil, weigh, and band equipment and supplies. Construct bins, shelving, and other storage aids. Process requests and turn-in documents at direct support level through warehousing section. Process inventories, surveys, and warehousing documents.

Perform prescribed load list (PLL) and shop stock list (SSL) duties in manual and automated supply applications. Prepare, annotate and distribute shipping documents. Break down and distribute field rations. Operate materiel handling equipment (MHE).

Perform accounting and sales functions in self-service supply. Operate SAMS-1. Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.


Working Conditions:

Extreme danger, stress, physical hardships and possible field living conditions associated with this position within a desert camp complex.

Ability to function during an extended assignment at a foreign, in-country facility exposed to seasonal temperature extremes. Ability to cope with shared cafeteria, bath and sleeping quarters. Must be able to walk, kneel, bend and stoop, and have correctable vision. Supervised by the Site Manager or senior Human Resources personnel.
