Small Arms Repairman

This is a position with a physical rating of heavy. Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in the Small Arms Maintenance Field. Should have experience in the 45B Series Army MOS, 2111 Marine Corp MOS or 3POX1B Air Force MOS. Must have thorough knowledge of Army technical publications. Must have a current Secret Security Clearance. Must be able to perform direct support and general support maintenance and repairs on small arms and other infantry weapons and towed artillery. Unit armored personnel do not qualify for this position. Must have a U.S. passport. Must be able to pass a physical exam due to the harsh living and working conditions. Must also pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen. This is a one (1) year assignment. You should expect to work 12 hours days, 7 days a week.

Repair all U.S. Military small arms, machine guns, mortars, howitzers, chain guns and direct fire systems. Perform all levels of maintenance from 10 to the 40 level General Support, IAW TM's. Perform "A" services: an inspection that checks all components by the 10, 20, 30 and 40 levels to include all gauging, function checks and repairs or replacement of parts.

Graduate of Aberdeen Proving Grounds Maryland and Lackland Air Force Base Texas have preference. Civilian applicant must provide proof of extensive training in weapons manufacturing. Assist the armorer with small arms repair operation.

Maintain armorer's toolbox. Must be able to use small gauges and precision measuring gauges. Must be able to stored weapons repair parts in special control areas. Provide direct support for weapons maintenance of small arms, ensuring weapons repaired to military standards. Observe and follow all safety rules and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment. Must be able to record all maintenance activities on the proper work packets.

Working Conditions:

Extreme danger, stress, physical hardships and possible field living conditions associated with this position within a desert camp complex.

Ability to function during an extended assignment at a foreign, in-country facility exposed to seasonal temperature extremes. Ability to cope with shared cafeteria, bath and sleeping quarters.
