VMWare Engineer SCOPE U.S. Citizenship required - The Command & Control Systems (C2S) Group is seeking an experienced VMWare Engineer to build, deploy and administer VMWare servers and architecture in support of the Multi National Forces-Iraq (MNF-I) Headquarters in Iraq. JOB DESCRIPTION The VMWare Engineer will provide on-site system deployment and administrative training to prepare sites to implement virtual computing environments, act as the chief architect for the enterprise virtual architecture and lead all activities related to implementing and maintaining the capability. The engineer is responsible for: • Training site administrators on VMWare technologies and implementation strategies • Configuring, enhancing, and operating enterprise client/server infrastructure • Diagnostic tools, automation, and recovery systems using standard or proprietary scripting and programming utilities. The Engineer will research and evaluate the following: • Recommend personal computer and server operating systems • Related utilities, hardware, back-office systems or new technologies • Prepare sites for VMWare deployment and change control processes for virtualized systems • Provide direct support to sites where VMWare solutions are deployed. Must be able to monitor, control, and support maintenance of server operating systems, related utilities, hardware and back-office systems, develop standardized virtual machine images, and implement enterprise-wide standards. In this position, the engineer will assist in determining equipment settings, operating instructions, and maintenance records and provide 24/7 on call technical support for enterprise network operations issues. This position is also responsible for additional duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALFICATIONS • Must have a minimum of 4-6 years equivalent experience, with at least 2 years specific experience with VMWare - ESX operating system • Must be willing to travel routinely, sometimes to hazardous duty areas throughout Iraq. • VMWare Certified Professional (VMWare Version 2.0 or 3.0) • Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) • US citizen with valid U.S. passport • active SECRET security clearance • Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications DESIRED SKILLS: • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with short timelines • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations • Ability to maintain high-quality work to manage multiple critical projects • Ability to perform and participate in a team-oriented environment • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of users • Excellent customer service skills and demeanor EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS A minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical experience is required.
