Theatre Information Security Officer SCOPE U.S. Citizenship required - The Command & Control Systems (C2S) Group is seeking an experienced Information Assurance Security Officer (IASO) to support the existing United States Forces-Iraq (USF-I). This position will require the candidate to work at numerous US military camps throughout the Iraqi theater. RESPONSIBILITIES • The candidate must be familiar with the DoD standards - guiding the development of IA policy, requirements, engineering and certification and accreditation • Must be able to translate security policies and requirements into an IA configuration implementation and application requirements • Must be capable of performing network and host vulnerability scans and document results in relation to residual risk identification • Must be familiar with network vulnerability scanners (ex. Retina, Harris STAT, ISS, etc.) • Must be familiar with patch management software (ex. WSUS, Update Expert, SMS, Hercules, etc.) • Must have experience with web content filtering (ex. Websense, Blue Coat, etc.) • The candidate will implement and enforce security policies and training requirements across the organization • Ensure implementation of IAVM dissemination, reporting, and compliance procedures • Ensure all users meet the requisite favorable security investigations, clearances, authorization, need-to-know, and security responsibilities before granting access to Information Systems (IS). It is critical for the candidate to have in-depth knowledge of the listed skill sets. The Theater IASO is responsible for training and managing personnel throughout the theater as well as leading regional IASOs by defining strategic vision and policies. Candidates may be asked to work with these applications independently at remote sites. This is an extremely dynamic environment and the customer has high expectations for our IA Professionals throughout the USF-I AOR. The IASO is responsible for other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Hold active US SECRET security clearance and be a U.S. citizen with a valid U.S. passport • Must be familiar with patch management software • Must have at least 6 years experience • Must have experience with web content filtering • Must complete incident handling processes and analyze data from scans • Must hold certification as an Information System Auditor (CISA) • Possess certifications from the following: CISSP, SANs (Cisco or Microsoft) • Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications DESIRED SKILLS • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with short timelines • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations • Ability to maintain high-quality work to manage multiple critical projects • Ability to perform and participate in a team-oriented environment • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of users • Excellent customer service skills and demeanor REQUIRED EDUCATION A minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical experience is required.
