SCOPE
U.S. Citizenship required - The System Administrator Lead primary responsibilities include technical oversight of the systems shop ensuring that all production servers are properly installed, secured and maintained with the latest driver updates and security patches. Duties also include continual development and reporting, automation of any manual processes and daily application and server support for all production systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct operational responsibility to:
• Provide technical oversight and direction to the Phoenix Base Systems Section.
• Direct interface and reporting to Phoenix Base Manager as required.
• Train, mentor, evaluate, and lead technical employees
• Assign technical tasks out to the other administrators when necessary
• Manage the SOP Library to ensure all tasks and procedures are up to date
• Maintain the stability of all W2K3 active directory servers, W2K3 Exchange servers, application servers, core systems support, Systems Disaster recovery
• Maintain compliance of all software and security IAVA status of all systems inside the OU using Microsoft WSUS, W2K3 SMS Server, and Symantec AV SRV
• Provide onsite support to internal and external clients
• Implement project plans
• Act as the next level of support for the onsite helpdesk.
• Have knowledge of network printers, digital scanners, and other user community network devices that are controlled centrally.
• Be familiar with DOD IT security regulations, policies, and practices.
• Know the customary approaches, techniques, and requirements assigned to computer and server application areas
• Familiarity with system image creation using Symantec Ghost, SMS, or Windows Deployment Server
• Continual automation of daily tasks through scripting and other provided tools
• Troubleshoot systems that are not operational, determine source of problem and resolve
• Work with systems technical staff and private vendors to resolve technical problems
• Ensure systems are secure from unauthorized access
• Conduct analyses that properly interpret IA policies procedures, and guidelines to ensure recommended solutions will meet those criteria when implemented.
• Upgrade software and hardware on servers
• Coordinate with systems technical staff throughout the enterprise to ensure proper evaluation of problems and development of suitable resolutions
• Create secure shares to make resources available on the network
• Provide Common Access Card (CAC)/Public Key Infrastructure administration and troubleshooting inside and outside of the network
• Coordinate system maintenance plans
• Ensure backup and disaster recovery plans are implemented and tested on a regular basis
• Maintain technical support documentation to include SOPs, technical briefs, daily logs, and user instructional documentation.
• Provide systems support to Database administration, Web administration and Network administration teams
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Four-year technical degree (Six years directly related experience may substitute for degree).
• MCSA 2000/2003 or MCTS Active Directory Administration
• Expert knowledge of Windows, W2K3, Exchange 2K3, XP
• knowledgeable about group policies
• Advanced knowledge of Active Directory User and Group management
• Advanced knowledge of systems security
• Knowledge of Perl and shell scripting or other scripting language
• Advanced technical troubleshooting experience
• Provides daily supervision and direction to systems administration staff.
• Ability to travel extensively to hazardous duty areas overseas
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Applicant must hold or be eligible for a US Secret security clearance (Active Clearance preferred)
• Will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
• Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced IT Certification(s) (i.e. MCSE, CCNP, BCFP, EMC, etc.)
• Demonstrated self-starter and demonstrated ability to independently resolve problems
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with short timelines
