| MNF-I Network Planning Engineer SCOPE U.S. Citizenship required - Pelatron, Inc. is seeking an experienced Network Planning Engineer to support Classified/Unclassified networks for the US military throughout Iraq. This position will be located at Camp Victory – Baghdad, Iraq. RESPONSIBILITIES The Network Planning Engineer will be responsible for the architecture and design of new Enterprise Network initiatives for the theater WAN. This candidate will work under the immediate supervision of a military lead. The candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. • Designs networks based on customer requirements. • Responsible for the design and architecture of the strategic networks within the Iraqi Theater of Operation (ITO) for MNF-I. • Assists MNF-I with major network strategy development and deployments. • Participates in application/project design and review sessions in collaboration with other architects and sections. • Provides end-to-end solutions • Participates in all phases and takes a lead role in network projects, develops network strategies, and provides high-level technical support • Performs a lead function in multiple-platform network integration projects • Writes system documentation and specifications • Collaborates with security, infrastructure, and application architects for the optimal solution. • Champions/articulates/communicates the architecture to the customer and appropriate IT departments; presenting the implication of the architecture to these units. Assists and manages the network vendors who assist in the development and deployment of the project architecture. • Develops relationships with key vendors and partners • Models and documents the current environment, and defines transition steps and strategies from the current to the future state architecture. • Validates the application designs for conformance with the enterprise technical, information and application architecture; identifies material re-use opportunities. • Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Valid U.S. Passport • Interim SECRET clearance or higher required • CCNP (CCIE Preferred) or equivalent experience • Has more than 6 years experience in large, heterogeneous multi-platform networks • Has a strong understanding of network operating systems, open systems protocols, and interoperability considerations • Have broad experience across a wide variety of networks and operating systems. • Proficient with MPLS/IPv4/iPv6/Multicast, routing, firewalls, and switching gear. • Experience with wireless network design, implementation, and planning. • Demonstrated experience with desktop O/S, inter-networking, VoIP, VoWLAN, QoS, and SNMP. • Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications DESIRED SKILLS • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with short timelines • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations • Ability to maintain high quality work to manage multiple critical projects • Ability to perform and participate in a team-oriented environment • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of users • Excellent customer service skills and demeanor | |
