Transmissions Technician - FOB Shield SCOPE U.S. Citizenship required - Primary responsibilities include the line-of-site microwave transmission systems, satellite transmission systems and Fiber transmissions carrying out the day to day operation and maintenance of the FOB Shield and Multi-National Force Iraq (MNF-I), Communication Information Systems (CIS) operations. Additional duties will include supervision of the FOB Shield communications team and performing liaison duties between the IZ CSO management and customers. RESPONSIBILITIES The Transmissions Technician will be required to: • Operate and maintain microwave radios, antennas, satellite equipment, fiber optic multiplexers, Promina multiplexers, line drivers, encryption devices, and inverse multiplexers • Process changes to frequency licenses • Troubleshoot RF paths using spectrum analyzers, Fireberds, and oscilloscopes • Document circuit architecture, reviewing and editing CCSD, and TSO documentation • Schedule ASIs and ASOs with CIS and external units • Other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Active Secret clearance • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience • At least eight years of experience working as a transmission installation, operation, and maintenance technician • Extensive knowledge of line-of-site microwave radios, transmission circuits, and multiplexers • Basic knowledge on cable building to include RS530 and RS449 standards and be able to follow color codes • Intermediate to advanced understanding of signal flow and the differences between red and black data • Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Excellent customer service skills and demeanor • Demonstrated self-starter and demonstrated ability to independently resolve problems • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with short timelines • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations • Ability to maintain high quality work to manage multiple critical projects • Ability to perform and participate in a team-oriented environment • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of customers
