E&I Network/Voice Engineer SCOPE U.S. Citizenship required - The E&I Network/Voice Engineer’s primary responsibilities include the network and voice engineering and installation on the (USF-I) United States Forces-Iraq, International Zone (IZ-CJ6). The E&I Technician will be required to: • Design and install standardized network configurations for Layer 2 and 3 switching/routing devices including Cisco 3500, 3600, 3700 series devices; Cisco 4000 and 6500 series multi-layer switches and 2800, 3700 and 3800 routers. • Perform detailed troubleshooting, installation and maintenance of KG-175 TACLANE network encryption devices and other cryptologic gear as necessary • Demonstrate a working detailed knowledge and understanding of Windows Active Directory Domains integration and interaction with the network as well as knowing how the various components of domains interact with the overall functionality and stability of the network (i.e., DNS, DHCP and Cisco ) • Design IP network aggregates, IP routing and IP assignment policies • Responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, escalating, and repairing voice network elements from Cisco, Avaya, and Nortel • Design and install voice network solutions using: Cisco Call Managers, Call Manager Express, voice gateway routers, Tandberg, Prologics, Avaya legacy/VoIP products, Nortel, Lucent 5ESS, VoIP phones, VG248 • Must be an expert on VoIP technology: H.323, MGCP, SIP, CCM, Unity, SCCP • Be able to work with the voice O&M and network shops to design, install, maintain and repair standardized voice and network configurations from the service provider to the desktop. • Must have extensive knowledge of TDM, DS0/1/3, T1/E1, ISDN PRI, signaling protocol: CAS, CSC • Document telecom related configurations and diagrams. • Detailed understanding of the function of SIPR, CENTRIXS and NIPR net • Must have extensive knowledge of SONET/SDH gears (ONS 15454 & 15305, fiber multiplexers, various media converters, Metro Ethernet, protected rings • Design and implement Cisco ONS metro access switches for SONET/SDH protect rings • Must have extensive knowledge of ISP & OSP cabling, fiber installs, use of OTDR, network analyzers • Demonstrate technical proficiency in the repair and construction of CAT-5, CAT-5e, CAT-6, Fiber Optics cables • Supervise and assign duties to technicians engaged in E&I related projects • Other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Valid U.S. Passport • SECRET Security Clearance • Four-year technical degree or equivalent experience • CCVP & CCNP Certification Required • Ten years directly related WAN/LAN work experience • Ten years of voice related technology • At least five years of field experience • Advanced technical troubleshooting experience • Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications • Self-driven and self-motivated. • Must be able to make technical decisions • Excellent costumer relation skills DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Demonstrated self-starter and demonstrated ability to independently resolve problems • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with short timelines • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations • Ability to maintain high-quality work to manage multiple critical projects • Ability to perform and participate in a team-oriented environment • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of network users • Excellent customer service skills and demeanor • Provide drawings and updates to the configuration manager in Visio or AutoCAD format • Build cables for various equipment • Speaks Arabic Pelatron is an Equal Opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, or Vietnam era, or other eligible veteran status, or any other protected factor.
