| Core Services Manager SCOPE U.S. Citizenship required - The Core Services Manager will be responsible for the operations of the Core Service Section. Core Services consists of 28 technicians between the Network Operations Center (NOC), Technical Control Facility (TCF), FOB Shield, Network, and Systems Administrators. This position requires a strong multi-disciplined IT and management background. The Core Services Manager manages and directs the efforts of the section leads, collects metrics data and prepares reports and presentations, analyzes performance metrics forwarded by the supervisors, & oversees employee leave scheduling. The position reports directly to the CJ6 Deputy Program Manager and IZ CSO Director. RESPONSIBILITIES Direct operational responsibility to: • Provide technical oversight and direction to all sections that make up the Core Services Team. • Direct interface and reporting to site Program Manager, IZ CSO Director, and customers as required • Direct interface with senior site military leaders • Train, mentor, evaluate, and lead the Core Services Team • Primary coordinator of O&M projects that affect the network in the IZ (migrations, outages, upgrades, etc.) • Primary interface with E&I for the transfer of E&I project to O&M responsibility • Provide assistance and direction in troubleshooting in any area of the Core Services responsibilities • Review implementation plans for the domain on NIPRNet, SIPRNet, and CENTRIXS DISN networks • Provide oversight and guidance for US military network operations, procedures, and policies; principles, procedures, practices, techniques, trends, and nomenclature associated with local area networks (LAN), fiber optic networks, VoIP, Microsoft and other applications, Dell servers, and Cisco equipment. • Personnel evaluation and development for approximately twenty-eight people in the section • Other duties as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Valid U.S. Passport • Active SECRET Security Clearance • Four-year technical degree or at least eight years of directly related experience • 2 years or more experience managing 15 or more personnel in a multi-disciplined IT environment in the last three years. • At least two IT certifications in different disciplines (i.e. MSCE, CCNA, EMC, Brocade) • Expert knowledge of Windows, W2K3, Exchange 2K3, XP, Active Directory • Advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN hardware, Dell servers and workstations/laptops, Routers, Switches, Wiring (Cat5, fiber), Network Attached Storage, Storage Array Networks, tape libraries • Advanced knowledge of group policies • Advanced knowledge of systems security • Knowledge of VB, Perl and shell scripting • Advanced technical troubleshooting experience • Must meet overseas medical deployment qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS • Excellent customer service skills and demeanor • Demonstrated self-starter and demonstrated ability to independently resolve problems • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with short timelines • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous manner in difficult situations • Ability to maintain high quality work to manage multiple critical projects • Ability to perform and participate in a team-oriented environment • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of network users | |
