Media Analyst (Arabic Speaking) Media Analyst (Arabic-Speaking) – Speicher/Tikrit Iraq The team would include a minimum of three (3) Public Affairs/Strategic Communication Specialists (one of which will be an audio/video broadcast specialist) and two Arabic-speaking media monitoring/media analysts/media outreach specialists on-site with the 25th ID in Iraq and a Project Manager/Media Specialist and a Web Manager in a stateside location. Minimum requirements: Public affair specialists are required to be US Citizens, hold and keep current US Secret-level security clearances, be in good health and able to deploy overseas to hostile environments. Title: Media Analyst Location: Public Affairs Operations Center at Contingency Operating Base Speicher, Tikrit, Iraq General Duties: Make daily updates on Iraqi/Pan-Arab media; provide media monitoring metrics /media analysis/media outreach for Iraqi/Pan-Arab Qualifications: Deployable civilian; Secret security clearance required. Verifiable with media analysis experience in preparing and releasing news and feature items for mainstream publications Detailed Description: Support the Command Information Program Conduct Media Monitoring: • Conduct media monitoring of press that are operating in the TF Lightning area of operations, as well as media products that directly relate to areas, events, or topic within the area of operations. • Assist TF Lightning in organizing and scientifically tracking themes, messages and key communicators of the media outlets predominantly operating in the TF Lightning area of operations. • Create and maintain a media assessment tracking mechanism that will allow TF Lightning to schedule future engagements and leverage “threats and opportunities.” • Use internet search engines, search services and wire service reports to identify the print, television and radio pieces that cover TF Lightning activities in the media. The clips will cover a 24-hour period and are delivered daily by 0500 hours in Iraq for use in morning briefings. • Assist in the creation of meaningful metrics that will accurately measure progress toward goals and objectives. These metrics will be used to alter or change the current course or serve as proof that TF Lightning is accomplishing its PAO objectives. • Provide reach back capability IOT provide the team forward deployed with additional subject matter expertise and expertise.
